Trekking in Mustang Region is a cultural trek that takes you through the ancient kingdom of Mustang, all along the Kali Gandaki River, towards Tibet, very close.The word resonates with Mustang isolated mountain accents. For centuries the Mustang was a small independent kingdom. In recent decades it has been attached in Nepal.It is protected by monsoon rains of the Himalayan barrier Annapurna and Nilgiri. This is an ideal area for hiking dry Lete, when it rains elsewhere.
Hiking in this ancient mythical kingdom protected and requires obtaining a special permit which costs seven hundred dollars per person for ten days of guided trek.

Total duration: 19 days Detail Itinerary Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu Arrive in good time in Kathmandu is a great time. From the airport you will see the mountains where we hike. A representative of Explore Himalaya and a driver will be waiting at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Day 2: Visit Kathmandu Valley Kathmandu is the historical and cultural heart of Nepal. This is a tourist destination attracting thousands of visitors. The city offers from various aspects of Hinduism, Tibetan Buddhism and Western influences. Patan and Bhaktapur, the two neighboring cities are very interesting culturally and religiously. You will also visit the largest Hindu temple of Pashupatinath and Boudhanath, the largest stupa in Nepal, and a palace and Swoyambunath. Day 3: fly to Pokhara Less than an hour's flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara offering great aerial views. Upon arriving in Pokhara you will be impressed by the Manaslu and Annapurna. Then you can visit the attractions of Pokhara and Phewa Lake. Many activities are available. Day 4: fly to and trek to Kagbeni Jomosom: 2780 m. Spectacular flight by brushing the snow-capped peaks and landing Jomosom where we meet our team of assistants Nepal. Easy hike to the small medieval village of Kagbeni and views of snowcapped peaks: Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri and Tukuhe. The trail is flat amidst a stunning backdrop mineral. Day 5: Trek to Chhuksang: 2920 meters The trail alternates between flat areas and small climbs. The small town is a maze of narrow alleys and white houses surrounded by barley fields and apple orchards. The top of the Nilgiri continues to dominate the landscape in the south. Chhuksang village is two hours walk from Tangbe at the intersection of rivers Narshing Khola and Kali Gandaki. This village shows three sectors and the ruins of a castle. Day 6: Trek to Samar: 3290 meters Everything is different here: not only the topography but also the culture, lifestyle. Everything is miniaturized and simplified to the extreme. People Lo Upper Mustang and Manthang practice agriculture that, because of lack of rain and a land that is not confined to rich land cramped, creating a patchwork landscape. We continue to move north across a metal bridge in front of a tunnel. From there you can not follow in the foot during the Kali Gandaki. The trail follows a gorge to reach the village of Chele. This place is surrounded by poplars stop for mule caravans and horses. Rest with yoga and massage. Day 7: Trek to Geling: 3440 meters. We spend a ridge overlooking Samar then we descend into the wide groove and we enter another valley populated by trees. We cross a river and after crossing a pass we descend to the hamlet of Shyangmochen which has several small shops offering drinks. Rangbyung is at hand. It is a sacred place with a cave where stalactites resemble chortens. We climb a little before entering a smiling valley, with fields of barley. Traditional houses, ocher, combine stones, mud and straw. The wood is scarce and precious. Day 8: Trek to Ghami: 3460 meters. Since Geling the path crosses fields to reach the top of the valley above a chorten impressive. Now we climb to the Col de Nyi La: 3840 meters. Easy descent to an intersection of trails. Ghami is a beautiful village of white houses encircled by cliffs: photos. Day 9: Trek to Charang: 3490 meters. Today we cross one of the driest areas of the Mustang, but the scenery is magnificent. The village overlooks a canyon Charang. An impressive dzong, a medieval fort, watch over this place and a monastery with beautiful statues and thangkas valuable: photos. Day 10: Trek to Lo Manthang: 3730 meters. After spending much of the morning exploring the great monastery Charang and we walk to Lo Manthang. A large isolated chorten symbolizing the boundary between the village lands. We see from afar the capital of Mustang. It has a long medieval walls and has only one door. Let us rest and get to know residents. Day 11: Lo discovery Manthang The city has about 150 homes and residences for its many lamas. We can visit four temples. That of Champa Lakang protects a huge statue of Buddha, clay, and beautiful mandalas painted on the walls. The palace of the king of Mustang is an imposing building towering in the center of the city. The King and Queen reside. Day 12: Trek to Lo Gekar We leave Lo Manthang by a route offers great views of the city and the valley of Charang in the background with snowy peaks: photos. Day 14: Trek to Chhuksang: 2920 meters. Now we take the same route on the flight out, but admiring the scenery from different angles, and still make great pictures. Day 15: Trek to Jomosom: 2710 meters. Long descent of the Kali Gandaki River by memorizing beautiful landscapes. Walking against the wind blows hard in the afternoon is an unforgettable experience. Jomosom is called the Valley of Wind. Its small museum worth a visit. Jomosom has a sauna. Relax. We make a little party with the team of Nepalese who allowed us to hike in the kingdom of Mustang. They expect a tip. Day 16: flight to Pokhara and Kathmandu. At daybreak we fly over the lower part of the Kali Gandaki River, frôlons snowy peaks before asking to Pokhara to take another flight to Kathmandu. Photographing the Himalayas is worth the trip.
